Oak Street Kitchen Remodel

A full gut-and-rebuild of a 1990s galley kitchen into an open, functional space. White shaker cabinets, quartz countertops, waterfall island edge, and unlacquered brass hardware throughout.

Oak Street Kitchen Remodel, after

The Oak Street kitchen had served the family for 30 years and it showed. Laminate counters, a closed-off layout, and appliances on their last legs had turned what should be the center of the house into a room everyone avoided.

The wall between the kitchen and dining room was load-bearing, which we confirmed during the initial walkthrough. We engineered a flush beam to carry the load and opened up close to 400 square feet of combined space.

The clients came to us without a firm sense of what they wanted, which is pretty common. We used our guided design process to work through it together and landed on a style they both responded to: warm and clean without being cold. White shaker cabinets, quartz, aged brass. Once that direction was clear, the rest of the selections fell into place quickly.

The kitchen gets used now. That’s the thing they mention most when we check in.
