About Stronghold

What areas of northern Arizona do you serve?

We're based in Flagstaff and regularly work throughout northern Arizona: Williams, Sedona, Camp Verde, Winslow, Show Low, Payson, and Prescott Valley. If you're in the region and not sure whether we travel to you, just ask.

Are you licensed in Arizona?

Yes. Stronghold Construction holds an Arizona Registrar of Contractors (ROC) license for residential and light commercial work. We can provide our license number on request, and you can verify any Arizona contractor at the ROC's public lookup at roc.az.gov.

Are you insured?

Yes. We carry general liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage. We're happy to provide certificates of insurance before any work begins.

How long have you been in business?

Stronghold was founded in 2022 by a third-generation builder who came to Flagstaff looking to provide a better class of service that reflects his mountain home. We're owner-operated, which means the person you shake hands with at the start is still responsible when the job is done.

Do you do commercial work?

Our primary focus is residential: single-family homes, multi-family properties up to 4 units, and historic residential structures. For projects that fall outside that scope, we'll tell you honestly rather than overextend.

Process & Quotes

How do I get a quote?

Fill out our quote request form or call us directly. We'll have a quick conversation about your project, schedule a site walk, and put together a written itemized quote. No lump sums, no verbal estimates we can change later.

How long does it take to get a quote?

We typically respond to all inquiries within one business day. After a site walk, written quotes are usually ready within 3–5 business days depending on project complexity.

What does a quote from Stronghold include?

Our quotes are line-itemized: labor, materials, subcontractors, permits, and any allowances are called out separately. You should know exactly what you're paying for before you sign anything.

Do you charge for estimates?

Initial consultations are free. If we move to site walks and full detail bids, we charge a small fee for that work that gets deducted from your quote when it is signed. Northern Arizona is a big place, and to ensure we make the most effective use of our time and serve our clients, we ensure all work completed is done with honesty up front.

What happens if the scope changes mid-project?

Any scope change gets communicated before it shows up on an invoice. We issue written change orders; you approve the cost and the work before it happens. We don't surprise people.

Services

Do you do kitchen and bathroom remodels?

Yes. Kitchen and bathroom remodeling is a significant part of our work. We handle the full scope: design coordination, demolition, plumbing and electrical rough-in, tile, cabinetry, countertops, and finish work.

Do you build new homes?

Yes. We build single-family and multi-family new construction across northern Arizona. We can work from your architect's drawings or connect you with designers we trust. We get involved early to review plans for buildability and build an accurate schedule before breaking ground.

Do you do home additions?

Yes. Room additions, garage conversions, ADUs, and attached structures. We handle permitting, foundation work, framing, and full finish.

Can you help with historic home restoration?

Yes. We have experience with northern Arizona's older homes and understand the structural priorities: sill plates, foundations, roof systems, and windows first. We'll tell you what a structure actually needs, not what generates the most work for us.

Do you do handyman-type repairs?

We absolutely do. Stronghold aims to provide the best contractor service in Northern AZ, and that means addressing all your issues. Reach out via phone, email, or text message to schedule a handyman repair.

Permits & Compliance

Do you handle permits?

Yes. We pull all required permits and manage the inspection schedule. For any structural, electrical, or plumbing work in Flagstaff and Coconino County, permits are required. We handle them as part of the project, not as an add-on.

Why does permitted work matter?

Permitted work is inspected and documented. When you sell your home, unpermitted work can cause financing issues, delay closings, or require expensive remediation. We pull permits because it protects you.

Do you work with HOAs?

Yes. We're familiar with HOA requirements in Flagstaff and surrounding communities. We'll review your HOA guidelines before work starts and can help prepare the documentation HOAs typically require for approval.

Building in Northern Arizona

What's different about building at Flagstaff's elevation?

At 6,900 feet, Flagstaff has specific building requirements: roof snow load design (up to 55 lbs per square foot), freeze-thaw cycles that stress foundations and exterior materials, intense UV exposure that degrades roofing and siding faster than lower elevations, and Arizona Energy Code insulation minimums. We build to these requirements as standard practice.

Can you build on a wooded or rural lot?

Yes. We have experience with rural lot builds in the Williams and northern Arizona area, including well and septic coordination, site prep on uneven terrain, and wildland-urban interface (WUI) fire code compliance.

How do weather and seasons affect construction timelines?

Flagstaff's monsoon season (July–September) and winter snowfall can affect outdoor work schedules. We build realistic schedules that account for weather, not optimistic ones that assume perfect conditions.
