Worth Understanding

What KB-1 Dual actually means

Arizona splits contractor licences into residential, commercial, and dual classifications. A KB-1 is a dual licence: it carries the scope of both the B-1 General Commercial Contractor and the general residential classification, and it has no project size limit on either side.

In practical terms, there is no commercial job we are barred from bidding on the basis of licence class. Plenty of contractors who advertise commercial work in northern Arizona hold residential-only licences and subcontract the parts they cannot legally sign for. You can check ours, and anyone else's, against the state register.

Client references for commercial work are available on request, including projects in leased space where the landlord relationship was part of the job. Certificates of insurance are issued naming the landlord and property manager as additional insured, before work starts, as a matter of course.
